So I moved a few months back, and the art store I would normally frequent is too much of a hassle to get to now. So, being resourceful, I looked up art stores around where I moved to. Lucky me, there's one but a short bike ride's distance away! Double luck, it's right near a place I ride by all the time anyway! Hooray, hooray, praise the gods.
This morning I set off on the Yankee Doodler adventure (that's the name of the store). The ride to where it was supposed to be took ten minutes, and then I wasted another twenty minutes trying to figure out where the hell it actually was. I only knew the number and had a vague idea of what street corner it was near. I must have gone up and down that busy shop street half a dozen times before I finally noticed it hidden in the corner between two other shops.
I go in, and am excited to see that this store has exactly what I'm looking for. Watercolors, ink pens, and most importantly, actual ink. Hooray hooray. I spend ten minutes just wandering the store to get my bearings for future trips, and finally get up there to ask the lady about the nib pens (they were all behind the counter.) She spends a bit explaining the difference in each pen to me, and since I don't know exactly what I plan to do with them I decided to just buy one of each type, along with a compact water colors kit. I've paid, and I'm happy. I ride my bike away.
Half the way home I realized something.
I didn't even buy ink.
I spent and hour riding around like a tool getting art tools, and I forget the actual stuff you use the tools for. ;u;
So yeah, long story short: I'm dumb.
ALSO STILL BUY COMMISSIONS FROM

Watercolors and ink, hmmm, is Jong's style rubbin of on you?
She's doing it because she has realized (or wants to realize) that traditional media is just so much more fun than digital... it just costs more ;_;
